FREE, HANDS-ON ENGINEERING

Curiosity is for everyone.

We bring creative engineering challenges to community spaces, making room for people to build, experiment, and discover what they can do.

Student-led. Community-centered. Always free.

WHAT WE DO

Engineering starts with trying.

No special knowledge. No perfect first attempt. Just a question, some materials, and the freedom to find out.

We bring hands-on STEM challenges to community spaces. Participants make predictions, build and test their ideas, then discover the science behind what happened. Each workshop is adapted to the group and always free.

Trying again after a surprise is part of the fun. Comparing results and improving designs gives participants a chance to practice analytical thinking and creative problem-solving, while sparking curiosity about what else they can make.

01Imagine

Start with a challenge and share ideas.

02Build

Turn everyday materials into a prototype.

03Test

See what works, and what surprises you.

04Improve

Try a new approach and build again.

FROM OUR WORKSHOPS

Real ideas, tested together.

INSIDE THE WORKSHOP

Small materials.
Big ideas.

From floating a foil boat to building a working bridge, every challenge makes room to design, test, and try again.

01 / IMPACT

Egg drop

Design a protective structure, make a prediction, and test how well it cushions an egg when it falls.

THE CHALLENGE Can it survive the drop?
02 / BUOYANCY

Aluminum foil boats

Shape a boat from foil, float it, add coins, and redesign it to carry more weight.

THE CHALLENGE How many coins can it hold?
03 / STRUCTURES

Marshmallow & toothpick towers

Build upward with a handful of simple materials, then explore what makes a tall tower stable.

THE CHALLENGE How high can it stand?
04 / MOVING STRUCTURES

Spaghetti drawbridges

Use spaghetti to create a bridge that can lift and lower, then test its movement and strength.

THE CHALLENGE Can it move and hold up?
AND THERE'S MORE

Next challenge? We'll build it.

Our activities keep growing. We tailor each session to the people, space, and materials available.

IN COMMUNITY

Made possible together.

Our workshops meet people where they are, in collaboration with organizations already doing meaningful work in their communities.

Activities are designed with each partner for its participants and setting.
